This piece is a collaboration with local tattooer, Steve Bayman who operates out of Blue Springs, Missouri. Bayman provided the drawing and we took care of the rest.
Who is 'the Gentleman' you ask? Well, Good Question!
He's a refined owl of discerning taste who plays a mean game of bones and loves a good scotch. Don't be fooled by his even-keeled persona and seemingly unflappable patience, ruffle his feathers one too many times and he is liable to peck your eyes out. However, treating him with the respect and courtesy that his character demands and he will not hesitate to take you under his wing.
This piece is a three-color reductive block print on a lusciously soft cotton cream paper. Reductive prints are often called 'suicide prints' because you just keep carving away at the same block for each color. There are no take-backs when carving these type of prints. It requires a steady hand and a sharp eye.
The image is 6 1/4" x 8 3/8" on paper that is 7 3/4" x 10".
This is a limited block print with an edition of 100 so get yours before they run out!
They are individually numbered and signed by both Michelle Dreher, the carver, and Steven Bayman, the contributor.
